Privacy Policy

DealerRadar.ca respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA — the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).

The short version: there are no user accounts on DealerRadar.ca — you can browse freely. We record a small amount of anonymous usage data to keep the site working and improving, and we only collect your email if you choose to set a price-drop alert or contact us.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand which listings and features are useful and to keep the site fast, we record anonymous usage events — pages viewed, listings clicked, and time spent on the site — linked only to a random identifier stored in your browser, never to your real identity. This is first-party data: it is never sold or shared, and we do not use fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.

Server / security logs

Our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard access logs: IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp, and HTTP status code. These logs are used exclusively for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and debugging. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are then deleted automatically.

Email — price-drop alerts & contact

DealerRadar has no user accounts. The only time we collect your email is when you choose to give it — to set a price-drop alert on a specific listing, or to contact us. We use it solely to send you that alert or to reply (through our email provider, Resend), and you can ask us to delete it at any time. We never sell, rent, or share it.

We use functional cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the site — for example, remembering your language preference and your search location. These are always on.

With your consent, we also use Google AdSense to display advertising. AdSense may set cookies to serve ads and measure their performance. The first time you visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline this. If you decline, we do not load advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the DealerRadar cookies in your browser.

DealerRadar.ca uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• OpenStreetMap — Used for dealer map tiles. Map data is loaded directly from OpenStreetMap servers. See openstreetmap.org/privacy.
• CartoDB / CARTO — Used for tile rendering. See carto.com/privacy.
• Google AdSense — If you consent to advertising cookies, we use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads. See how Google uses data.
• Resend — Delivers price-drop alert and contact-reply emails on our behalf when you provide your email. See resend.com privacy.
• Vercel — Our hosting provider. Infrastructure-level access logs are subject to Vercel's privacy policy.

DealerRadar.ca does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. Full stop.

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Access any personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of any personal information we hold (such as your alert email)
• File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

To exercise any of these rights, email us at dealerradar@gmail.com with subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.

We don't operate user accounts. Alert emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Anonymous usage analytics are retained for up to 12 months, then aggregated or deleted. Security logs are kept for a maximum of 30 days.

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will post a notice on the site and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of DealerRadar.ca after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
